FINEST AND RAREST WINES FROM THE COLLECTION OF AMBASSADOR RONALD WEISER. OFFERED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN WITH PROCEEDS BENEFITING THE FOOD ALLERGY CENTER Ambassador Ronald Weiser has very generously donated the following collection of wines, lots 1 to 278, to the University of Michigan primarily to benefit the Food Allergy Center The Ambassador Ronald Weiser Ambassador Weiser founded McKinley Associates, a national real estate investment company in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1968 and remains its principal shareholder. In 2001 he was appointed by President George W. Bush as U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia where he served for more than three years. The Ambassador is an Honorary Member of the Académie du Vin de Bordeaux, Commanderie du Bontemps de Médoc et Des Graves, and the Bacchus Society of America where he was named Mr. Gourmet in 2001. Ambassador Weiser currently serves as a Trustee of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation, The Henry Ford Museum, and the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. The Ambassador and Mrs. Weiser also serve as Campaign Deputy Chairs of the University of Michigan’s $4 billion Victors for Michigan Campaign. The Weisers have three children and five grandchildren, all of whom live in Ann Arbor. The Food Allergy Center at the University of Michigan Health System The food allergy crisis has reached worldwide epidemic proportions, with nearly 8 percent of all children suffering from serious or life-threatening food allergies. Severity is on the rise, and little is known about what causes this dangerous condition. Yet the problem is growing exponentially – nearly doubling since 2007 and sending millions of children to emergency rooms every year. The Food Allergy Center at the University of Michigan Health System is a worldwide destination for expert care for both common and rare allergic conditions. The U-M Food Allergy Center is expanding access to specialized care and ramping up its groundbreaking research to understand the causes and develop better treatments that can be implemented around the globe. Ambassador Weiser and his daughter-in-law, Mary Weiser, are leading an effort to raise $42,000,000 to greatly expand this research effort as well as offer a substantial increase in clinical and in-patient services. All of the proceeds from the sale of these wines have been contributed toward this effort. https://medicine.umich.edu/dept/food-allergy-center The Collection In an age before Investment Wine Funds and an over reliance on the points of Mr. Parker there existed the “Fine Wine Collector”.
