Château d'Yquem 1947
Sauternes, 1er grand cru classé
Slightly corroded capsules, one with signs of seepage. One very badly bin-soiled and damaged label, one label missing. Levels: one base of neck, one upper-shoulder
Tasting note: Never a poor bottle. Perfect, glowing amber-gold with apple green rim; totally harmonious bouquet; still remarkably sweet, mouthfilling with a singed hot-vintage character. It looks the purest gold in a decanter by candlelight. Last noted June 1998 ***** M.B.
