A caneware encaustic-decorated barrel-shaped teapot
and cover with ball finial, modelled to represent a bamboo original with shaped bamboo handle, spout and gadrooned lower section, applied in relief with a frieze of putti after an original sculpture by Fiammingo known as the 'Bacchanalian Boys' within borders enriched in pale green enamel with continuous bands of anthemia, impressed lowercase mark -- 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high, circa 1790 (chips to inner rim, metal reinforcement to tip of spout, slight staining and crazing)
