etching and drypoint, 1656, partial watermark Arms of Amsterdam (probably Hinterding N.a.), a very good impression, printing with touches of burr, a light plate tone and sharp, inky plate edges, with 4-7mm. margins, in very good condition, framed

University Library, Cambridge (L. 2475); probably acquired in the 18th century; transferred to the Fitzwilliam Museum (cf. L. 932) in 1876; presumably sold in their duplicate sale, Sotheby, London, 2 April 1878 (and following days), lot 61: "very rich impression with burr, large margin" (£5-5, to Danlos).
Probably with M. A. Danlos, Paris; acquired at the above sale.
