Rectangular, on two bar feet, with deep lower section and shallow, hinged cover, decorated on the front with confronted phoenixes and florets in a mosaic of mother-of-pearl and spirals and line borders of coiled wire, inlaid on the two short sides with auspicious bats centering a happiness medallion, the background and the back side brown-red lacquer enhanced with gold flakes; fitted with a brass lock and lockplate and hinges, the interior lined with paper
