A Two-color Stone Inkstone and Box
Joseon dynasty (early 20th century)
Carved as a rectangular, bracket-footed green stone inkstone box fitted with a shallow cover, pierce-carved on three sides with lotuses, one short side open, and the cover pierced on the sides with small decorative chevrons and ovals; the separate inkstone contained in the box is of brown stone carved with rectangular grinding slab and reservoir
Closed box 7¾ x 4½ x 3 3/8in. (19.6 x 11.5 x 8.8cm.)
