The bodhisattva is depicted seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, with hands held in dhyana mudra, wearing a tassel-hung beaded necklace and layered robes with incised floral scrolls at the hems. The hair is dressed in twisted plaits that trail down the shoulders and pulled up into a tall coiffure behind the crown centered by Shakyamuni Buddha. There is an inscription in a line at the bottom of the base which may be translated as 'Made in Beijing on the 8th day, twelfth month of the second year in the Zhengtong reign (1437)'.
