The high-shouldered, tapering body is covered on the exterior with a glaze of rich green color in contrast to the white interior.

Lot Essay

A set of three monochrome jars of the same size, with Kangxi marks, one glazed green, one yellow and another aubergine, was sold at Christie's New York, 3 June 1993, lot 235.
Compare, also, a yellow-glazed jar and cover with a Kangxi mark, of the same form, in the Percival David Foundation, illustrated by R. Scott, Percival David Foundation of Chinese Art, London, 1989, p. 94, no. 95. Another Kangxi-marked, yellow-glazed jar was sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 29 April 2004, lot 658.
