A RARE PAIR OF LARGE HUANGHUALI BOXES, YIXIANG
17TH/18TH CENTURY
Of rectangular form, each box has baitong ruyi-shaped mounts at the top corners and bail handles suspended from circular mounting plates at the sides. The flora-form lockplate is mounted flush against the surface with cloud-form hasp in front. The figured wood panels are of golden amber tones.
