A SPOTTED BAMBOO AND HORN BRUSH HOLDER
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The frame of the brush holder is comprised of two upright struts flanked by short vertical spandrels, each with a small horn fitting inserted at the ends and raised on short feet carved from horn. The frame is joined by three stretchers, one at the top and two below. The top stretcher is inset with twelve small hooks carved from horn from which brushes would hang.
