A Ming dynasty cloisonné enamel box of the same shape and decorated with similar floral scroll was sold at Bonham's London, 10 July 2006, lot 43. Another box of the same form, but dated to the 18th century, was sold at Bonham's London, 8 November 2013, lot 144.
The treatment of the lotus blooms, in particular the curled central elements of the flower, and the leafy vines on which they are borne, compares closely to that found on a large cloisonné enamel dish dated to the 16th century in the Pierre Uldry Collection, illustrated in Chinese Cloisonné: The Pierre Uldry Collection, London, 1989, p. 121.
