A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE SHAPED RECTANGULAR PENDANT PLAQUE
18TH/19TH CENTURY
One side is carved with two boys, each holding a peach, and the reverse with a fourteen-character inscription, danpa shiyan liu shengzi, yu sun chengxiang zhu yousun (The blooming red flowers will bear pomegranates that promise many seeds [sons]; the auspicious green bamboo shoots predict yet more offspring [grandsons]), followed by a seal, Zigang, all below pairs of dragons and clouds at the top. The semi-translucent stone is of even color.
