AN UNUSUAL WHITE JADE OPENWORK PENDANT
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
Inspired by Tibetan ritual daggers (phurbhu), the slender, tapering, triangular 'blade' is composed of three flanges of finely carved, openwork foliate scroll, and the shaped top is surmounted by a pearl or bud nestled in a double row of lotus petals. The semi-translucent stone is white with black flecks.
