A SILHOUETTE AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE
1720-1850
Of well-hollowed, flattened and rounded-square form, the bottle is raised on a narrow oval foot rim, and one side has a peach design. The translucent, grey stone is suffused with black and brown markings.
2 1/8 in. (5.5 cm.) high, coral and gilt-metal stopper
Provenance
Kay Blair Collection (1916-1985), Princeton, New Jersey, acquired in London, 1960s, and thence by descent.
