TWO WHITE JADE RETICULATED CARVINGS
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The first is a rounded rectangular plaque carved in layered openwork with two peaches between two bats in the center amidst the intertwining stems of the slender leaves of a gnarled branch that also bears two blossoms. The stone is of white tone with some opaque white mottling. The second, a belt fitting, is of rectangular form and carved with a bird perched on a leafy branch, above a rectangular loop at the bottom. The stone is of pale-greyish-white tone. Together with a silver box decorated with flowering branches, and the top and interior are mirrored.
