A MUGHAL-STYLE GREYISH-WHITE JADE VASE AND COVER
The vase is of flattened baluster form, and the thin-walled, tapering body is carved in low relief on one side with a panel enclosing a pair of birds perched on a flowering branch, and on the reverse with a pair of geese in a marsh looking up at a third goose in flight above, all surrounded by leafy, floral scroll. The neck is carved with a decorative band interspersed with multicolored glass 'jewels' between the flower-stem handles that suspend loose rings. The cover is carved with lotus scroll terminating in a flower-bud finial. The translucent stone has some dark grey speckles and has a high polish.
