A WHITE JADE ARCHAISTIC AXE-FORM PENDANT
19TH CENTURY
The flat pendant is carved on both sides as an archaistic axe blade below a taotie mask, and along the edges with two openwork dragons, all below a mythical winged beast shown in profile at the top.
3 1/8 in. (8 cm.) long

Acquired in Washington D.C., in the early 1970s.
