The Goanese brass-mounted teak top and frieze inlaid with a band of ebony stars, scrolling foliage and mythical beasts, and with two drawers, the English mahogany, ebony and ebonised lower frieze and legs original and made for the top and upper frieze when they were imported to England from India in the early 19th century, finished to the back
