Lot Essay

A celebrated artist and critic who helped shaped Egyptian appreciation of art, Hussein Bicar's works are characterised by pure and simple lines which convey elements of forcefulness and spirituality offering a sculptural quality to his works. The Nubian culture left a distinct impression on him of which Nubian Dance is a charming example.
