Engraved map of Siberia, hand-colored in outline, image 342 x 494 mm (420 x 547 mm sheet). Decorated with large cartouches, a Mongol encampment and Tartars. (Some browning, reinforcement along fold on verso.)
The map shows Siberia and northern Asiatic Russia, Central Asia including Korea as an island, and reaches from Moscow in the West to the Great Wall of China in the East. A printed note in the Arctic Ocean records the voyages of William Barents of 1594 to 1596.
