LATER ATTRIBUTION TO HASHIM, MUGHAL INDIA, 1660-1680 AD
Opaque pigments and gold on paper, standing and facing to the right, richly dressed with a brown robe embroidered with floral sprays, a grey coat with fur trim and embroidered with a floral lattice, with a richly decorated gold sash, purple turban and green boots, his right hand rests on a katar, the left on his tulwar, the shield hangs on his left side, on green ground, the face repainted, otherwise very fine, inscription in red nasta'liq script along the bottom, laid down on red card with black borders, mounted, framed and glazed
