IRAN, 19TH CENTURY, ONE DATED AH 1314/1896-97 AD
Each of typical elongated form, with gilt and polychrome painted decoration, the first with profuse gilt palmette scrolls across a floral field to the top and sides, the borders with intricate interlocking straps, the base adorned with scrolling vine; the second with hinged raised lid, the decoration with elegant interlocked floriated quatrefoils on black ground, the base with inscription and dated AH 1314 /1896-97 AD
The largest 8.5/8in. (22cm.) long
