THE LOCK FRENCH, OTTOMAN TURKEY, LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Of typical shape, the barrel intricately damascened with foliated scrolls and palmettes, the central register with an inscription in nasta'liq script, the stock, forestock and butt applied with silver engraved geometric motifs and inlaid with scrolling silver wire, the barrel band with similar engraving, the lock plate inscribed Ste Maye a Marseille, with ramrod and suspension loop
