MARKED FABERGÉ, WITH THE WORKMASTER'S MARK OF VICTOR AARNE, ST. PETERSBURG, CIRCA 1899, SCRATCHED INVENTORY NUMBER 2702
Diamond-shaped, the body enameled in translucent red over a sunburst wavy guilloché ground, centering an oval aperture containing a portrait miniature depicting a son of Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna, within a silver border surmounted by a ribbon crest, the lower border silver-mounted with tied laurel leaves, with reeded silver border, the mammoth ivory backing with scroll strut and with indistinct inscription in Russian and numbered '8932', marked on lower edge and strut
