Of traditional form, on a trompe l'oeil base simulating wooden logs, the lower part cast and chased with pan-Slavic scrolling foliage and stylized birds on stippled ground, the center applied with a lifebuoy inscribed in Russian 'The Imperial Yacht Standart', the hinged cover chased with scrolling strapwork and foliage and centering a vacant escutcheon flanked by two stylized beasts, the back in the form of a traditional izba centering and applied with two spiral columns and centering a Russian inscription 'God grant [you loaves and fishes] /for honor/and/joy' ('Dai Bog/v chest'/da/v radost'), the interior of the cover engraved with a Russian dedicatory inscription 'To our hospitable and truly Russian host', marked throughout; also with Swiss import marks
