Lot Essay

The figures of three lyre-playing putti, which feature on this pair of étagères also feature on a tazza dated circa 1830 in Schloss Rosenberg, Copenhagen (H. Ottomeyer & P. Pröschel, ed., Vergoldete Bronzen, Münich, 1989, I, p. 388, fig. 5.16.16).
