Lot Essay

Sewn on the reverse is a hand written paper fragment: Book cover belonging to the Emperor of China's library in Pekin, ivory book marker attached. Obtained by Major Robin 7th Duke of Connaught's Own effects (?), and given by him to Macl. Ray. This is valuable.
