A MOTTLED BEIGE AND BROWN JADE DISC AND A MOTTLED BEIGE AND BROWN JADE 'BIRD' FINIAL
SONG/MING DYNASTY, 12TH/14TH CENTURY
The disc is finely carved on both sides with four equidistant taotie masks on a ground of S-scrolls. The finial is carved in the form of a bird, the circular base with a wide aperture.
The disc 3 in (7 cm.) diam., the finial 4 ½ in. (10.5 cm.) long.
