A SET OF FOUR BLUE AND WHITE BOWLS
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
Each bowl is of deep rounded form with a gently flaring rim, supported by a short ring foot. decorated to the exterior with two fan shaped panels depicting figures in boats and pavilions in mountainous riverscape scenes, between lines of poetic inscriptions. The bases on three bowls have the four-character hall mark Jin Yu Tang Zhi, translating, made for 'The Hall of Gold and Jade', the fourth bowl has a different four character hall mark Yi You Tang Zhi, which may be translated as: made for ' The Hall of Devoted Friendship'.
