A WUCAI BEAKER VASE AND A JAR AND COVER
TRANSITIONAL PERIOD, CIRCA 1630-1650
The vase is of slightly tapering cylindrical shape with a flaring mouth. It is decorated to the exterior with five ladies standing in a garden setting, above bands of flowers and fruiting sprays. The jar is of globular shape similarly decorated with ladies in a fenced garden scene. The matched cover has three dancing boys.
The tallest, 16 ? in. (42.2 cm.) high
