A MUGHAL-STYLE PALE CELADON JADE EWER
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The ewer is carved with a foliate handle opposite the spout, with four smaller handles with loose rings. All handles are surmounted by a chrysanthemum flower head, decorated to the centre with a red stone. The exterior of the vessel is carved with floral sprays, above the short foot modelled as a chrysanthemum flower. The semi-translucent stone is of a pale tone.
