A GE-TYPE FOLIATE BOWL
DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARK IN UNDERGLAZE-BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)
The bowl is delicately moulded with six sides mimicking the petals of an open-form flower, rising to a foliate mouth rim and supported on a short splayed foot. The vessel is covered overall in a crackled pale grey glaze.
4 ? in. (12.4 cm.) diam.

See a very similar ge-type foliate bowl in the Simon Kwan collection, also dated to the Daoguang period, exhibited in Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing from the Kwan Collection, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, 1983, p. 84, catalogue no. 70.
