A LARGE CIRCULAR BRONZE 'IMMORTALS' JARDINIÈRE
MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The vessel is powerfully cast standing on a short tapering foot. The exterior is cast with six panels, each containing an Immortal and its attributes in relief. The foot is decorated with a band of lotus petals and the rim with a thin band enclosing geometric scrolls divided by four equidistant roundels, containing the apocryphal characters Xuande nian zhi.
