A CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL 'PIGEON' CENSER AND COVER
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The standing pigeon is naturalistically modelled with the head slightly tilted to one side and the wings resting at its sides. The feathers are intricately wired and enamelled in blue and green, with the eyes inset with red beads. The cover is shaped as the wings and back of the bird.
7 ½ in. (19 cm.) long
