Lot Essay

This small-scale and wonderfully preserved Zieglar Sultanabad, sold originally at Harvey Nichols in 1894, subsequently made its way to Elevden Hall, the magnificent Suffolk country house once home to the Maharajah Duleep Singh, ruler of the Sikh Empire. The house was purchased in 1894 by the Guinness brewing family.
