Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with gold dial, Roman numerals, small seconds hand in 1913 and its subsequent sale on 6 October 1915. The Extract furthermore states that the movement number is also engraved on the cuvette and on the inside of the case back.

Consigned by an important private collector, the present watch is fresh to market and preserved in very good, original overall condition.

Patek Philippe's superior quality watches, such as the present example, are distinguished by an Extra movement and hidden hinges to the caes. The rare feature of a solid gold dial furthermore enhances the appeal of this minute repeating watch, made for the firm's distinguished American retailer Tiffany & Co.
