With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with raised gold hour markers in 1953 and its subsequent sale on 29 October 1953.

To the best of our knowledge this reference 2481 has never been offered in public before.

Reference 2481 was launched in 1950 and was one of the largest wristwatches ever made by Patek Philippe. The model was fitted either with the standard silvered dial, but was also available with the cloisonné enamel version, depicting either landscapes, continents or portraits of famous personalities.

Different examples are illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pp. 205, 207-211.
