Lot Essay

With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with black dial and applied steel hour markers in 1939 and its subsequent sale on 31 August 1939. Furthermore delivered with Patek Philippe and Freccero fitted presentation box.

The present "Calatrava" wristwatch is fresh to the market and believed to be the only example of a reference 541 in stainless steel with black dial to have appeared in public to date, the rarity enhanced by the retailer signature Freccero.
