Lot Essay

With Panerai guarantee dated February 1996, original fitted presentation box and setting pin.

The present Pre-Vendome Panerai is a beautifully preserved example of the so-called "logo Luminor", named after the use of the distinctive "OP" logo on the dial. With its 44mm wide stainless steel case, it was with no doubt one of the largest timepiece offered at that time.

The logo Luminor was produced in two references. Reference 5218-209/A was produced in a series of 10 or 12 pieces whereas reference 5218-201/A, such as the present example, was made in a series of 677 watches in 1993.
