Lot Essay

Very little is known about the artist. The Museum Catharijneconvent, Utrecht houses a signed and 1630 dated family portrait before the ruin of the Onze-Lieve-Vrouw ter Nood Chapel in Heiloo by De Jong (inv. no BMH s473b).
