The rounded rectangular top with a hinged flap concealing a compartment above a frieze drawer with brass knob handles on paired tapering standard end supports, joined by an arched stretcher, and with sabre legs and brass foliate caps and castors, inscribed in chalk 'Thorne', originally with knobs with star-shaped backplates
