Formed of leafy branches supported on a tree-stump foot, applied with trailing fruiting branches, the interior with a cylindrical chamber, the cover with a bird's nest (chips and losses to branches, fruits and leaves, restoration to mother bird and one chick, rim chips)

Lot Essay

A vase of the same form, attributed to Marieberg, is illustrated by Erich Köllmann et al., Sammlung Europäischer Fayencen des 17. bis 19. Jahrhunderts, Exhibition Catalogue, Cologne, 1991, no. 221. Another example was sold in these Rooms on 7 October 1985, lot 23.
