Painted with lozenge-shaped panels in iron-red, claret and brown with alternating motifs including peacocks, shields, military trophies, flaming torches, paterae and caduceus, reserved on a buff-coloured ground painted with interlinked purple and blue flowers and scrolls flanked by triangular panels of anthemion, the cup with on a spreading foot gilt with gadroons on a green ground, within gilt line rims (minor wear to gilding)
