DAOGUANG IRON RED FOUR CHARACTER SEAL MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-50)
The flattened and rounded bottle is raised on an oval foot. The sides are enamelled with a continuous mountainous river landscape in which a monk is standing on a bridge holding a beggar's bowl and a fly-whisk. The calligraphy beside his head reads 'Shenshan Cang Gusi', that may be translated as 'An ancient temple hidden in the mountain'.
2¼ in. (5.8 cm.) high
