A PALE CELADON JADE BELT PLAQUE
19TH CENTURY
The rectangular plaque with faceted corners is carved in relief with two scholars travelling across a bridge amongst pavilions and pine trees in a mountainous landscape. The stone is of a pale celadon tone with opaque inclusions.
3 in. (7.7 cm.) wide, wood stand
Provenance
Assembled during the 1970s and early 1980s and inherited by the vendor in 1993.
