YONGZHENG PERIOD (1723-35), THE GRISAILLE CUP WITH YONGZHENG UNDERGLAZE-BLUE SIX-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD
The first cup is painted in the famille rose colours with a gentleman on horseback and his attendant in a continuous landscape with a pair of bats over their heads. The second cup is decorated with two shaped panels enclosing antiquities reserved on a dense grisaille and gilt ground of flower heads and scrolling tendrils. The interior is painted and gilt with a flower head.
