A GOLD-GROUND CHAIR COVER AND A BLUE-GROUND BROCADE CHAIR COVER
LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The gold-ground cover is worked with a large stylised shou roundel, an embroidered lotus and a deer on a gold ground scattered with bats, all above cresting waves and within a stylised key fret border. The blue-ground cover is woven with a lotus roundel and a crane roundel amongst scattered Buddhist emblems and horses.
