A CELADON AND RUSSET JADE SCROLL WEIGHT
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The rectangular stone is shaped as a handscroll. It is carved in low relief with two birds beneath a prunus tree and to the reverse with a figure on horseback in a mountainous landscape. The upper section is carved and pierced with gnarled prunus branches. The stone is of a celadon tone with russet veins and inclusions.
