A PAIR OF FAMILLE NOIRE VASES, HU
REPUBLIC PERIOD (1912-1949)
Each vase is decorated in mirror image with a roundel enclosing a hen and a cockerel on one side and a pair of geese on the other, all reserved on a black ground with trailing flower-heads and gilt scrolls. The sides are applied with deer's head handles. The bases have an apocryphal Qianlong iron red six-character seal mark.
