A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE PLAQUES
REPUBLIC PERIOD (1912-1949), DATED RENSHEN YEAR, CORRESPONDING 1932
The rectangular plaques are finely painted, one depicting a monk and hermit sitting on a stone bench below a tree; the other with a scholar reading in a garden next to two boys at play. Both scenes are below poetic inscriptions signed Wang Qi.
Each 10¾ x 16½ in. (27 x 42 cm.), wood frames
